About DSRHB
Creating opportunities through sport, play and recreation
Disability Sport & Recreation Hawke’s Bay (DSRHB) is a community organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of disabled people through the benefits of sport and active recreation.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to participate, connect, develop skills and experience the joy of being part of a community. Through inclusive programmes, events and activities, we create opportunities for disabled people of all ages and abilities to be active, build confidence and develop meaningful connections.

What we do
DSRHB works alongside disabled people, whānau, community organisations and sporting providers to create accessible and inclusive opportunities across Hawke’s Bay.
Our programmes are designed around participation, connection and personal growth. Whether someone is trying a sport for the first time, developing new skills, returning to activity, or simply looking for a place to belong, we aim to create welcoming environments where everyone can take part.
Our approach
We know that every person’s journey is different. We focus on creating opportunities that recognise individual strengths, goals and aspirations, while removing barriers that can prevent disabled people from participating in sport and recreation.
At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to inclusion, belonging and ensuring disabled people have the same opportunities to experience the physical, social and emotional benefits of being active.
Our community
Our members are at the heart of DSRHB. From tamariki taking their first steps into sport through to adults continuing lifelong participation, our community represents a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences.
