Disability Sport and Recreation Hawke’s Bay is on a mission to enhance the lives of disabled people through the power of sport and active recreation.

Every week, our members experience connection, movement, and a sense of belonging. Sport is more than just an activity. It is a pathway to confidence, community, and thriving lives.

As we work toward our 2030 Strategic Direction, we’re looking for community-minded leaders to join us and be a part of something that genuinely changes lives and helps shape the future of inclusive sport in Hawke’s Bay.

Open volunteer positions

Chairperson / Deputy Chairperson

Help guide our strategic direction, support the board, and champion inclusive sport across Hawke’s Bay.

This is a leadership role for someone who believes in equity, inclusion, and the transformative power of sport, and is motivated to create meaningful opportunities for disabled people.

Treasurer

Support our financial sustainability and help ensure we can continue delivering meaningful opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone with financial acumen and a strong sense of community, who can provide oversight, support sustainable growth, and contribute to a resilient future.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Passionate about inclusion and community wellbeing

  • Strong communicators and team players

  • Committed to good governance

  • Ready to make a meaningful difference

Experience in governance, finance, or community sport is helpful - but heart, commitment, and alignment with our values and a willingness to contribute is what matters most.
